Uzbekistan-Russia: Cooperation in the framework of promising projects

 

Today, on October 29, a bilateral meeting was held in the format of a videoconference between the Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC X.Khosilova with the First Deputy General Director of JSC Russian Railways (RZD), as well as the heads of Russian design and research institutes of JSC Roszheldorproekt and JSC IERT, as well as domestic JSC Boshtranslatikha.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further expansion of cooperation in the implementation of the Trans-Afghan Railway construction project, as well as the development of digital images along the railway line by Roszheldorproekt JSC, using artificial satellites to obtain high resolution.

In order to prepare for the above-mentioned works, the parties agreed on the exchange of technical parameters and cartographic materials between design and research institutes, as well as on the organization of joint work. The parties also calculated the volumes of goods that can be transported along the Trans-Afghan route in the future, and prepared information on the specific "advantages" and "disadvantages" of each route, which was agreed to be presented to the Afghan side.

The issue of joining the Afghan Railways Administration to the Commonwealth Council on Rail Transport in the future was also raised, taking into account the interest shown by Afghanistan.

According to the agreements reached, it is planned to organize a trilateral videoconference with the leadership of the railway administrations of Uzbekistan, Russia and Afghanistan in the coming days.
